Our Innovative Approach "Grandma's PLACE"

Our Philosophy... A PLACE in Our Hearts

Grandma’s PLACE began as a simple but powerful…

If you cannot adopt a young person into your home, adopt them into your heart and make sure they are okay.

For many young people who have experienced foster care, adulthood arrives without the safety net most families provide. Holidays, college breaks, difficult decisions, and everyday life can feel overwhelming without someone to call or somewhere to go.

Grandma’s PLACE ensures our young people always know that people care, and are cheering for them, and a community that stands with them.

YOU CAN BECOME A GRANDMA TODAY…

Grandma's PLACE

Our Concept... From Our Hearts to Homes

Show Up With an Open Heart
Grandmas simply show up. Attend intergenerational events, activities, and gatherings when you can, interact with the young people, share a smile, encouragement, and the wisdom that comes from life experience.

Offer Encouragement and Genuine Care
Sometimes the greatest gift is listening, checking in, and reminding a young person that someone believes in them. A Grandma’s voice brings reassurance, guidance, and positive affirmation.

Invite Your Community to Join the Mission
If you belong to a church, civic group, book club, workplace team, or community organization, help introduce them to Home4Me. Encourage others to volunteer, donate essentials, or support the young people we serve.

Share What You Can — When You Can
Nothing is mandatory. Everything is a blessing. Whether it’s attending an event, providing encouragement, donating items, sharing a meal, or simply staying connected, every act of kindness makes a meaningful difference.

Testimony (left) Ms. Doris and JaQuon met at one of our family dinners with our college students. Shortly after, JaQuon was being awarded his White Coat, and several of us attended, including Ms. Doris. That day, she said, “There is something special about him.” From that point on, an unspoken bond was created.

$4 Million Campaign for
Grandma's PLACE

In January 2026, Jalen moved into his first apartment—the first place he could truly call home. His story is proof of what becomes possible when housing, guidance, and community come together.

The $4 Million Grandma’s PLACE Campaign will create that same sense of home for college students who have experienced foster care, so they have a place to return, a community to lean on, and support that helps them keep going.
